The effects of Hay fever medicines for drivers

As many are probably aware we are now into the hay fever season, so out comes the hay fever medicine,

So what type are you employees takin? If it’s not labelled as “non drowsy”  then your staff could be putting themselves at risk from driving under the influence of drugs, the new drug laws cover drugs that effect your ability to drive, this is not only illegal drugs but certain prescription drugs and over the counter medicines are also covered by the law.

As an employer you have a duty of care to ensure an employee does not put themselves at risk during any work place activity or put members of the public at risk.

So as a business owner or manager you need to discuss with your staff the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and ensure they are not putting themselves and other at risk by taking a medicine that could affect their driving by slowing their reactions and even the chance of falling asleep.
